Robert M. Adams
Partner
Robert’s journey in the legal profession is a testament to hard work, dedication, and perseverance. He began his career as a paralegal, where he embraced the law with quiet determination. After law school, he worked tirelessly to become an exceptional attorney and plaintiff trial lawyer. His story is one of relentless progress—from handling minor fender-bender traffic accident cases to becoming a key player in some of the most complex mass tort and product liability litigation in the country.
Among his many achievements, Robert’s role in the landmark hepatitis C litigation stands as a defining moment in his career. His efforts helped change medical injection practices nationwide, making them safer for patients and saving countless lives. His determination to hold healthcare providers accountable extended to the health insurance company’s reckless hiring practices, ensuring that patient care would never be compromised for profit.
Robert also played a vital role in the Mandalay Bay Route 91 litigation, the largest mass shooting in U.S. history, which resulted in the largest settlement for a mass shooting ever. His dedication to securing justice for the victims of this devastating tragedy cannot be overstated. With meticulous attention to detail and tireless effort, Robert helped achieve a historic settlement less than two years after the shooting—an extraordinary feat in complex mass tort litigation. He worked to ensure that the families of those who lost their lives received meaningful compensation and closure, while also fighting for the survivors who endured life-altering physical and emotional injuries. Robert’s work in this case stands as an example of his commitment to justice, bringing a measure of healing and support to those impacted by an unimaginable act of violence.
His trial work in the Actos (pioglitazone) litigation, which involved more than 10,000 lawsuits against pharmaceutical manufacturers Takeda Pharmaceuticals and Eli Lilly, led to multimillion-dollar settlements for the Nevada clients Robert and his law partners represented. The litigation centered on allegations that the manufacturers hid the dangers of their Type 2 diabetes drug, including its increased risk of bladder cancer.
Robert also played a pivotal role in the opioid litigation on behalf of the State of Nevada and Nevada cities and counties, helping to secure an unmatched settlement of $1.2 billion—a monumental achievement that will benefit the people of Nevada for years to come.
Robert attributes his success not only to hard work, dedication, and support from his wife and family, but also to the exceptional people he has worked with over the years, including his current law partner, attorneys, and legal professionals at Adams & Ham. Robert is a mentor, a confidant, a trusted partner, and an exceptional advocate for each of his clients.
Although he has obtained more than 100 professional awards, Robert has always understood that true success is measured not just in professional achievements, but in the love and support of those closest to him: his very understanding wife, Ellen, and his four adult children. In fact, Robert believes that his greatest accomplishment of all is being a good father to Chad, Jordan, Megan, and Baily.
